María Palacios Ceña, PT, PhD cand.
Maria is a certified physiotherapist and is a clinical researcher in physical therapy at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Madrid, Spain, where she is a member of a clinical research group for clinical pain sciences, directed by Dr. César Fernández-de-las-Peñas. She is conducting her PhD at the Centre for Sensory Motor Interaction (SMI) in Aalborg University (Denmark), and her thesis is on trigger point therapy for headache. Maria’s further interest is in chronic pain clinical research and the effects of manual therapy and dry needling on pain, and she has over ten scientific publications on this topic. In addition, Maria has an experience in (private) clinical practice focussed on manual approaches for the treatment of chronic pain and myofacial pain syndrome.
