Innervation
- Radial nerve (C5–C6)
Origin
- Lateral supracondylar ridge
- Lateral intermuscular septum
Insertion
- Styloid process of the radius
Function
- Flexion of the elbow, especially when the elbow is in neutral position between supination and pronation
- Assists pronation and supination
Landmarks
- Lateral epicondyle
- Styloid process of the radius
- Extensor carpi radialis longus muscle
Precaution
- Superficial radial nerve
Technique
- Patient in supine position
- Pincer grip
- Usually with a 0.3mm x 3cm needle
