- Lateral surface of the tibia
- Interosseous membrane
Insertion
- Medial cuneiform bone
- Base of the first metatarsal bone
Function
- Dorsiflexion
- Supination
Landmarks
- Anterior border of the tibia
- Base of the first metatarsal bone
Precautions
- Anterior tibial artery and veins
- Deep peroneal nerve
Technique
- Patient in supine position
- Flat grip
- Usually with a 3mm x 3cm to 0.3mm x 5cm needle
